Dr. R. L. Edwards, Sr.

Senior Pastor — Greater Fellowship M.B.C.

Dr. R. L. Edwards, Sr. is a native Californian and the oldest of his siblings. He gave his life to Christ and was baptized at the Mt. Erie Baptist Church of San Diego at the age of 10. He is past CMBSC Brotherhood Bible teacher; a position he held for over 5 years.

While a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of San Diego, he served as Deacon, Sunday School Adult Department Superintendent, Jr. Brotherhood Counselor, Boy Scout Troop Scout Master, Director of Christian Education, and Associate Minister.

In 2001, he became the pastor of the Greater New Mt. Carmel M.B.C. (later Rose of Sharon MBC), a position he held for 16 years. In 2016, he became the proud pastor of the Greater Fellowship MBC, also of San Diego.

Pastor Edwards attended the Southern California Bible Institute and in 2016 earned his Doctorate Degree in Biblical Studies. He also holds life membership with the United States Chaplain's Association.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, fishing and spending time with his family. He is married to Mrs. Helen Edwards and is the father of 3 adult children and 10 grandchildren.
